Description of antenna components in Alpha Delta multi-band wire antennas. The basic design and materials of these components is common to all models, although with certain electrical design variations depending on the model. This photo shows the Model DELTA-C center insulator made of high impact DELTALLOY (tm) material for high strength in severe weather environments. The DELTA-C also includes the Model SEP gas tube static protector in most models. The hardware is stainless steel for long term survival in harsh and coastal weather. The wire separator spacers are 1 inch diameter high impact material. Each wire band element is a single wire.
The photo below shows the “ISO-RES”coil (isolator/resonator for band separation) assembly to the wire elements. The electrical tape at the end of the band element wires is used to cover up the end wire “twist backs”, through the end spacers. It is only for an optional visual effect and not required. The ISO-RES coils are made with 18 Ga. solid copper wire on a PVC form, with UV protective coating on the wire. Number 10 SS hardware is used. Each band element is a single wire. The end insulators are approx 8 in. long, also of high impact material, designed to reduce corona discharge, which can occur with shortened multi-band antennas having high voltage nodes at the antenna ends.
